Position Overview
We are currently seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dedicated clinical team at Alexandra & Crestview Surgeries. This role requires a professional who is capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to prescribe medications.
Key Responsibilities
As an ANP, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Conducting patient assessments and managing consultations in your own clinics.
- Handling referrals, prescriptions, and test results while providing support to colleagues as needed.
- Demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic, with a willingness to assist in various tasks.
- Providing care to a diverse patient demographic, from children to elderly individuals, and managing a wide range of medical conditions.
- Participating in regular ward rounds at a local care facility.
About Our Practice
At Alexandra & Crestview Surgeries, we pride ourselves on having a supportive and hardworking team that includes both clinical and administrative staff. Our practice is involved in teaching and research, serving a patient population of over 15,300 across multiple sites. Our team comprises experienced professionals, including GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants.
Clinical Duties
The ANP will be responsible for:
- Assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with various health issues.
- Conducting thorough clinical examinations and developing appropriate care plans.
- Managing both acute and chronic conditions, utilizing evidence-based treatment methods.
- Prescribing and reviewing medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Providing health promotion advice and supporting patients in managing their health.
- Participating in vaccination programs and managing health needs related to family planning and sexual health.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Professional Development

Qualifications and Skills
Essential qualifications include:
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Experience in a nursing team and dealing with vulnerable patients.
- Independent prescribing qualification.
Desirable qualifications may include experience in minor illness management and chronic disease care.
