Position Overview:

The Lead Civil & Structural Engineer will work closely with the Area Lead Engineer and the Engineering Manager in a full-time capacity.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of engineering teams, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Provide technical support to construction and commissioning efforts in line with planned activities.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with the design team and construction personnel to facilitate prompt resolution of technical challenges.
  • Address technical inquiries, manage product permits, and resolve non-conformances swiftly as they arise during construction.
  • Engage daily with construction teams on-site, ensuring that engineering designs are executed according to specifications.
  • Generate and validate structural calculations, technical documentation, and details necessary for site adjustments with the approval of the design team.
  • Review contractor methodologies and inspection plans as required.
  • Participate in site inspections, meetings, and project reviews as necessary.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree in Engineering, ideally with Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE).
  • Experience in the nuclear sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A proactive approach with strong communication, analytical, and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations and responsibilities as a Designer.

Design Tools/Software:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, STAAD-Pro, Tedds, and Navisworks is required.
