Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disability

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the Learning Disability Service. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric input to intellectually disabled adults registered with Hillingdon GPs, including advice, assessment, medical treatment, and risk management.
About the RoleThis is a full-time community job based in the Hillingdon Learning Disability Team, where you will work closely with a Core Trainee, Higher Specialist Trainee, and colleague Consultants. You will have a dedicated office and IT access, as well as facilities for remote working. There is scope for academic work with Imperial College London.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric input to intellectually disabled adults registered with Hillingdon GPs.
- Attend community team referrals and complex case reviews, community team clinical governance and management meetings.
- Provide a Consultant Psychiatric service for people with a Learning Disability who may be admitted on Frays and Crane Ward, acute inpatient mental health wards at The Riverside Centre.
- Lead the collaboration with mainstream mental health services within the Borough.
- Be an active participant in the shaping of new services in light of recent and ongoing changes to the NHS.
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with:
- Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice.
- Included on the GMC specialist register or within 3 months.
- Approved under section 12(2) MHA, 1983 or within 3 months.
- Approved Clinician status or within 3 months of appointment.
