Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Workshop Production Operative / Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join our team at AWD online. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a crucial role in the production process, working closely with our experienced team to ensure that all products meet our exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cutting: Accurately measure and cut sheet metal to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and machinery
- Deburring: Smooth rough edges and remove burrs from metal components to prepare them for further processing
- Drilling: Drill precise holes in metal components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Assembly: Assemble sheet metal components into finished products, ensuring all parts are correctly aligned and securely fastened
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organised workspace
Requirements:
- Experience in workshop manufacturing / sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, deburring, drilling, and assembly would be highly desirable. Although not essential. We will consider all levels of experience providing you can demonstrate you have some experience using hand tools such as angle grinders, drills, hammers, screwdrivers etc. and are keen to enter the industry
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or engineering sector
- Familiarity with operating workshop machinery such as guillotines, drills, and grinders within a commercial environment
