About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team at Millbank Holdings Ltd. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to a team of designers, ensuring the quality of output meets the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate tasks to a team of designers and check their drawing outputs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Promote effective collaboration across design and other functional teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards and familiarity with authorized documentation, Good Practice Guides, and ISO standards.
  • Assist in managing customer relationships, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers.
  • Advise on the selection of methods and tools for tasks and provide technical assistance to the design team.
  • Contribute to the preparation and production of drawings in support of basic, detail, and production design.
  • Provide a point of contact for discipline-related issues during the design lifecycle and contribute to design reviews.
  • Assist in resolving production and technical queries and develop discipline solutions for the team.
  • Contribute to learning from experience and develop innovative design solutions.
  • Maintain individual knowledge of current best practice in design expertise and promote a culture of best practice.
  • Exercise care for own health and safety and that of others, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • HNC/HND minimum in a relevant discipline or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Experience in a detailed design environment.
  • Good knowledge of CAD tools, including Autodesk Inventor.
  • Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
  • Incorporated Engineer status.
  • ICF (Integrated Competency Framework) to be demonstrated or being worked towards.
  • Demonstrable experience in technical leading of a multi-disciplined design team.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Member of a relevant Professional Institute.
  • Breadth and depth of experience in a range of commercial or defence projects.
