About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team in York. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food manufacturing plant by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement repairs or replacements as necessary
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure that maintenance activities do not disrupt production schedules
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance data

Requirements:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, and conveyor systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with production teams
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
