Position Overview

Eligibility and Security Requirements

This position is exclusively available to UK nationals. The process for obtaining SC security clearance can be extensive, and any conditional offers may be rescinded if clearance is not achieved within the specified timeframe.

Role Responsibilities

If you possess expertise in systems, electronics, or communications engineering and are interested in working with maritime platforms, this role offers a unique opportunity within our Situational Awareness Command and Control (SACC) team, part of the Integrated Battlespace Operating Centre (IBOC).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the engineering aspects of maritime Tactical Data Link (TDL) platforms to ensure operational capability and situational awareness.
  • Providing expert guidance throughout the equipment lifecycle, including new and emerging technologies.
  • Leading system requirements in line with the verification and validation requirements matrix.
  • Conducting hands-on testing and integration of innovative technologies for future naval platforms.
  • Producing and delivering in accordance with Engineering Management and Specialist Engineering Plans.
  • Diagnosing and analyzing operational defects on maritime platforms.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Possess a minimum Level 4 qualification (HNC or higher) in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Have experience in providing technical advice and leading successful engineering projects.
  • Exhibit technical expertise in communications, electronics, or systems engineering across various contexts.
