Job Brief:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geological Consultant to join our team at JP Engineering. As a key member of our geotechnical department, you will be responsible for producing high-quality geotechnical designs and site investigation reports.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Geotechnical Design: Produce geotechnical designs at tender stage to meet client requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
2. Site Investigation: Conduct site investigations to gather data on ground conditions, including assessing potential hazards and recommending mitigation strategies.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with structural engineers to develop economical foundation solutions based on site-specific ground conditions.
4. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and calculations to support geotechnical designs and site investigation findings.
5. Site Visits: Conduct site visits as required to gather data and inspect site conditions.
6. Support: Provide technical support to senior engineers and contribute to the development of geotechnical designs and site investigation strategies.

Person Specification:

1. Experience: Preferably 18 months of geotechnical design experience, but we will consider a recent graduate with a passion for geotechnics.
2. Education: Degree or higher in geotechnics or a related field.
3. Skills: Strong technical writing skills, numerical modeling skills, critical thinking skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Personal Qualities: Passion for customer service, dynamic, self-motivated, and a desire for continual learning and improvement.

Benefits:

1. Salary: Competitive salary range £27,000 - £36,000.
2. Annual Leave: 20 days annual leave + bank holidays.
