POSITION TITLE: Optometrist for Advanced Research
BAND: 7
LOCATION: Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion
CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term Contract (2 years)
WORKING HOURS: Whole Time Equivalent (WTE)

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a skilled Optometrist to become part of the Ophthalmology Research team at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion.

We are in search of a highly driven and passionate Optometrist with advanced clinical expertise who is eager to embrace new challenges in leading the support for the growing clinical research initiatives spearheaded by our Ophthalmology consultants. These innovative clinical research projects aim to enhance patient care for those with ophthalmic conditions. The successful candidate will also provide Optometric insights to studies conducted by other multidisciplinary teams within NHS Lothian. Responsibilities will include evaluating study needs, engaging in screening and recruitment processes, and conducting clinical assessments for research participants.

The role will also entail participating in a half-day session weekly within the glaucoma clinics as part of our Hospital Optometry team.
