Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Quality Analyst to join our Quality Department at Muller Bridgwater.
The primary objective of this role is to enhance quality performance through advanced analysis, comprehensive subject knowledge, and testing efficiency, while continuously striving for improvement in alignment with Muller values. This includes supporting the development of Laboratory Technicians and the Quality Management System.
Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent (42 hours per week)
Shift Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 2 days and 2 nights (7-7)
Location: Bridgwater
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely completion of laboratory tasks to the required standards.
- Conduct all testing accurately and punctually, including any additional trial work and annual surveillance testing.
- Perform daily calibrations and controls, investigating and resolving any issues.
- Maintain an organized and tidy laboratory environment with a 'clean as you go' approach.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels effectively.
- Prioritize workload efficiently.
- Ensure all documentation, whether electronic or hard copy, is completed thoroughly.
Muller Responsibilities:
- Actively engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting through data analysis and evaluation, while mentoring lab technicians to adopt the same methodology.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) and contribute to its development and maintenance.
- Show initiative and motivation to enhance quality-driven performance.
- Complete internal audits on schedule and to the required standards.
- Report any quality issues to the team leader promptly.
- Ensure timely completion and reporting of Internal and External Proficiency Testing, with thorough investigations as needed.
- Provide mentorship and training to Laboratory Technicians.
- Support central team-led projects aimed at developing new methods, systems, and processes.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in microbiological methods, including Total Viable Count (Petrifilm) and Enterobacteriaceae (Petrifilm).
Previous Laboratory Experience:
- Aseptic techniques
- Auditing practices
- Laboratory safety protocols
- NIR technology (FOSS)
- Calibration and maintenance of equipment
- Familiarity with laboratory accreditation standards, such as CLAS
Desirable Skills:
- Pipetting proficiency
- HACCP Level 2 certification
- In-depth knowledge of microbiology and dairy chemistry
