We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Climate Officer to join our team at Oxfordshire County Council. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our environmental initiatives and contributing to the council's sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities- Craft and implement the council's climate action plan, ensuring alignment with our sustainability objectives.
- Track and report on the progress of our sustainability initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate climate considerations into their functions, fostering a culture of sustainability across the organization.
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to raise environmental awareness and support the execution of climate-related projects and programs.
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field, and experience in climate action or environmental policy. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and project management skills, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to work in partnership with others. A passion for making a positive environmental impact is essential.
