Job Overview

At Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Support Specialist to become an integral part of our team.

Our focus is on assisting patients in their journey towards recovery and autonomy, providing a customized daily therapy regimen that caters to their unique requirements. This involves aiding individuals in enhancing their mobility and reacquiring essential skills such as personal hygiene, dressing, meal consumption, and communication, ultimately facilitating their return to home life.

We collaborate closely with the acute stroke unit at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, ensuring that individuals who are ready for specialized inpatient rehabilitation can receive the necessary support during their transition from acute care.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be pivotal in assisting our patients throughout their rehabilitation process.

Your responsibilities will include supporting delegated therapeutic activities, such as safe moving and handling techniques and personal care tasks. Comprehensive training will be provided in all aspects of stroke care and rehabilitation.

Our organization operates on a 24-hour internal rotation, requiring flexibility to accommodate various shift patterns.

Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy / GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths) or a willingness to undertake this qualification.
