Role Overview:
This position is more than just a job; it is a pivotal role. As an integral member of the NGUK Defence Systems Engineering (SE) team, you will engage in various dimensions of significant UK Defence, Cyber, and Intelligence Programs, ensuring that our clients receive timely and budget-conscious deliverables. This role provides the chance to execute SE tasks throughout the complete project lifecycle, from initial concept to operational deployment, of sophisticated integrated maritime systems within the UK Defence Sector. Your technical acumen will be vital in enhancing SE proficiency within NGUK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful execution of Systems Engineering tasks across the entire project lifecycle
- Facilitate the application of Systems Engineering methodologies
- Support and lead technical reviews with stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful outcomes
- Guarantee compliance with organizational standards during delivery
Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering frameworks, methodologies, lifecycle management, execution, and reporting
- Experience in requirements formulation, design, integration, and validation
- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering, Software, or Hardware engineering
- Effective team collaborator with strong communication abilities
- Systems-oriented thinking, methodical approach, and proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Proactive mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Exceptional technical writing capabilities
Preferred/Developable Skills:
- Familiarity with requirements management software
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques
- Understanding of agile methodologies
- Knowledge of marine electronic systems and/or the maritime environment
- Awareness of military environmental regulations
- Experience with safety-critical systems
- INCOSE Associate or Chartered Systems Engineering Professional certification
