About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Model Validator to join our team at S&P Global. As a key member of our credit analysis team, you will be responsible for validating and reviewing quantitative financial-based models and engines, as well as conducting credit review activities using both qualitative credit skills and statistical/quantitative analyses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Validation: Test and validate quantitative financial-based models and engines to ensure they are accurate and reliable.
  • Credit Review: Conduct credit review activities using both qualitative credit skills and statistical/quantitative analyses to evaluate ratings performance.
  • Sector Research: Conduct and interpret sector research to identify key credit trends/risks and apply to assess ratings performance.
  • Tool Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of new tools/procedures to support the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the Review & Validation function.
Requirements
  • Education: Advanced degree (or equivalent) in Financial Engineering/Quantitative Finance, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or other relevant program.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Excel/VBA and R/Python, as well as strong programming skills in SAS, MATLAB, or C++.
  • Communication Skills: Well-rounded communication skills that implement strong listening techniques, clear/concise writing style, and effective verbal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Full-time relevant work experience in credit analysis of debt/capital markets, credit analysis/research, quantitative finance, model development or validation.
  • Quantitative Skills: Quantitative skills in the areas of structured finance, credit derivatives, default and recovery modeling, and/or credit risk management.
