The H M Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Professional and Strategic Lead to join our team as the Strategic Lead for PAYE and International Employment Income Tax. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to lead and shape the work of a professional and highly motivated technical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to address risks and opportunities for PAYE and international employment income.
- Be accountable for the quality of advice provided by the team to customers.
- Be accountable for the technical aspects of relevant subject areas and relationships with customers.
- Ensure understanding of customers through proactive engagement with other government departments, policy, and stakeholders.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet planned objectives.
- Empower and build capability across the team to continually improve performance.
Requirements:
- Hold one or more of the following qualifications: HMRC's Tax Specialist Programme, Chartered Tax Adviser, Advanced Diploma in International Taxation, or equivalent tax or legal qualifications.
- Demonstrate a combination of strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, and direct tax technical proficiency.
- Have recent experience in PAYE or international employee taxation and compliance.
About the Role:
This is a highly technical tax professional and strategic role that requires direct tax professional skills, knowledge, and experience to inform strategy in this area. The successful candidate will play an active role as part of a successful SLT with a portfolio of wider responsibilities that allow for the effective operation of the IPD Technical Team.
