Job Title: Head of Logistics

Strive Supply Chain is seeking an experienced Head of Logistics to lead our UK-wide supply chain and logistics management operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the distribution of products from suppliers to customers, encompassing core warehouse functions, purchasing, sales, customers, finance, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the broad distribution of products from suppliers to customers
  • Direct, lead, and motivate the logistics team, including managing the Warehouse Manager, Service Manager, and Inbound Logistics Manager
  • Develop succession planning and ensure site H&S is at the highest level possible
  • Manage stock levels to drive efficient use of space, cash, and stock management
  • Drive the most efficient functional use of the automated warehouse by fully utilizing advanced warehouse management systems and developing a culture of staff engagement and continuous improvement
  • Maximize operational capacity and efficiency of the warehouse, focusing on continual improvement
  • Review and manage the current 3PL transport mix, including cost vs. performance and current SLAs
  • Ensure effective flow of information between purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and communication with sales, finance, sales forecasting, and marketing teams
  • Lead by example, provide leadership/line management to direct and indirect reports, and ensure teams are optimally set up to deliver required results
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in running complex, fast-moving operations, ideally in an automated warehouse
  • Highly knowledgeable on all aspects, especially planning for increased volumes, mechanical/electrical issues, and related software limitations
  • Evidence of establishing a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong on all aspects of the financials, including setting and managing budgets, making commercial decisions, and presenting data/reports to the main board
  • Proven experience of KPI analysis and improvement, including challenging poor performance and selling a route forward to improve
  • Able to combine being hands-on and taking a step back when needed
