Civil Project Engineer

Our client, a leading engineering company, is seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join their team in Birmingham. This is a permanent opportunity with hybrid working available, requiring at least one day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall civil engineering, construction, and contracting activities for substation projects, from tendering to hand-over.
  • Develop project requirements, cost estimates, project plans, and budgets within the construction industry.
  • Review and comment on civil documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including costs and budget.
  • Handle disputes, negotiate change orders, and communicate decisions to clients, subcontractors, and management personnel.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the UK building market, including knowledge of National Grid, SSE, EDF, and similar major utilities.
  • Advantageous to have experience as a Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) in accordance with National Grid's NG/ET/SR188 procedure.
