Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Boston, Lincoln. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome learning barriers and promoting their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to build confidence and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement tailored learning activities that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Support students in managing challenging behavior, promoting a safe and nurturing environment that fosters positive relationships and emotional growth.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure the best outcomes for our students, providing consistent and nurturing support throughout their educational journey.
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, particularly in an SEMH or special school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable students, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
