Role Overview:

The Locomotive Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of locomotives and coaches through comprehensive service and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the commissioning and warranty processes for locomotives and coaches.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and failure analysis on locomotives or coaches.
  • Utilize mechanical schematics and circuit diagrams to perform electrical and mechanical repairs on various components.
  • Employ laptops equipped with subsystem software to diagnose and resolve issues within locomotive systems.
  • Identify and assess electrical malfunctions in control circuits and components, determining necessary corrective actions.
  • Interpret and analyze written or electronic data to ascertain root causes of failures, compiling detailed reports for management.
  • Implement Field Modifications (FMIs) aimed at enhancing product quality.
  • Document all failures, part exchanges, FMIs, and performed work in the Commissioning and Warranty database.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and site leads, communicating technical information, job procedures, and recommendations.
  • Manage the logistics of sending and receiving failed parts for repair.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing.

This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service quality.
