Cornwall Staff Agency is representing a distinguished hotel and resort in St Ives that is currently seeking a skilled Line Cook Specialist to enhance their culinary team. This opportunity is available for an immediate start for the right candidate.
The Line Cook Specialist role is expected to be fulfilled over five working days within a seven-day period, with a minimum of 40 hours of work each week. A flexible attitude towards work is essential, as the establishment employs various shift patterns to meet operational demands and ensure kitchen efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive and Head Chefs to uphold exceptional standards in food quality, both in preparation and presentation.
- Operate in all kitchen areas as required by the Executive Head Chef based on daily needs.
- Ensure timely preparation of food items for the restaurant, meeting both quality and quantity expectations.
- Adhere to all Company Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Policies.
- Verify the freshness and proper storage of products used in the section.
- Assist Head Chefs in checking the completeness of supplier deliveries and the accuracy of delivery notes and invoices.
- Follow cost control policies and procedures diligently.
- Maintain cleanliness in all assigned areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
- Report any equipment needing repair or maintenance within the section.
- Foster effective employee relations.
- Provide daily updates to the Department head regarding operational matters.
- Participate in any relevant staff training as deemed necessary.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Executive or Head Chefs.
