Countrystyle Recycling is dedicated to providing exceptional resource management services, ensuring that our workforce and clients are central to our mission of delivering effective solutions.
About the Role:
The Banksman will oversee the safe movement and loading/unloading of vehicles, as well as the operation of mobile equipment on site.
This role requires careful monitoring of machinery to prevent obstructions and ensure the safety of all personnel in the vicinity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with legal standards during vehicle reversing operations.
- Minimize accidents related to reversing vehicles.
- Implement practical signaling techniques to assist drivers in maneuvering.
- Maintain visibility to drivers at all times.
- Position oneself safely to guide vehicles without obstruction.
- Wear appropriate high-visibility clothing and ensure signals are clearly communicated.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements on site.
- Utilize 2-way radios effectively for communication.
- Report near-miss incidents to management.
- Follow all Health, Safety, HR, and Environmental policies.
- Manage vehicle parking and ensure adherence to site traffic regulations.
- Direct deliveries to appropriate departments.
- Ensure compliance with PPE requirements among all personnel.
- Maintain pedestrian safety by enforcing designated routes.
The responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake additional tasks as necessary.

Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrated safety and environmental awareness.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and resolve issues.
- Strong understanding of vehicle operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
Desirable Requirements:
- Familiarity with the waste and recycling sectors.
- Experience with relevant machinery and equipment.
- Willingness to assist team members and take on additional responsibilities.
- Experience operating a weighbridge.
- Formal Banksman training.
