Job Title: Category Buyer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Category Buyer to join our team at Triumph Motorcycles. As a Category Buyer, you will be responsible for managing a selection of suppliers in the Powertrain or Chassis commodities to achieve best value for Triumph through the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop category strategies and sourcing initiatives to support the Company's production volume growth and maintain high quality standards.
  • Work with the Procurement Category Manager to identify new sources and rationalise the current supply base.
  • Analyse trends in categories and advise on suitable sources for upcoming motorcycle development programmes.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and QC teams to arrive at balanced outcomes.

Requirements:

  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English.
  • Degree in Business or Engineering related field, or relevant purchasing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Good commercial awareness and acumen.

Senior Category Buyer:

For the Senior Category Buyer role, a higher level of experience and knowledge is required. The role will incorporate more complex component categories and team mentoring. In times of absence, the role will step up to assist with team management.
