About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at Long Eaton School. As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional cleaning services to our customers, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and adhering to our quality, safety, and health policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake all necessary training to deliver the cleaning role
  • Work within a team and under your own initiative
  • Adhere to all Mitie Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness, carrying out daily, weekly, and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well-maintained, and in a safe working order
  • Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks
  • Always maintain security, locking doors, and following lost property procedures
  • Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities
  • Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials, and approved chemicals used by Mitie
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, behavior, punctuality, and attendance
  • Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations

Requirements

  • Cleaning experience is preferred, but training can be provided
  • Reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team
  • Capable of working to your own initiative where appropriate
  • Be open and honest
  • Be self-driven and determined
  • Strive for continuous improvements in service delivery
