Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building a scalable, reliable, and high-impact solution that helps the business become more data-driven and deliver actionable insight.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate business needs and objectives, working with Data Analysts and other users to understand the needs for data and create effective data workflows.
- Collect, transform, and maintain large quantities of data.
- Design, build, support, and improve data infrastructure and pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation in Azure.
- Improve the scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of data pipelines, monitoring, and resolving issues.
- Create and maintain data storage solutions, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations.
- Implement data validation and cleansing procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and dependability.
- Write great code and focus on database automation.
- Strong experience gained in a Data Engineer role, ideally with exposure to Microsoft Azure.
- High standard of education advantageous, perhaps in a Data-related subject, together with relevant Microsoft qualifications.
- Familiarity with Data Management and Storage, Data Integration and ETL, Big Data and Analytics, utilizing Azure Data Factory, Synapse Data Warehouse, and comparable technologies.
- Strong proficiency with SQL, including writing and optimizing complex SQL statements.
- Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
- Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
- Detail focus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Initiative, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Salary £30,000 to £55,000 + bonus (£6k) + pension + benefits.
- Excellent career progression opportunities.

- Hours 8.30am - 5.30pm, holidays 22 days + stats, increasing with service.
