Join Our Team as a SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive school environment.

As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment, fostering academic success, and promoting social and emotional well-being for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building Positive Relationships: Establish trusting relationships with students, creating a safe and nurturing environment where they feel valued and supported.
  • Implementing Behaviour Management Strategies: Assist in implementing behaviour plans, using techniques such as positive reinforcement, de-escalation strategies, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Providing Emotional Support: Offer empathetic listening and encouragement to help students cope with challenges and build resilience.
  • Supporting Inclusion: Facilitate participation and collaboration with teachers to modify activities and assignments to ensure accessibility for all students.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience in a school setting or care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities.
  • Adaptable, patient, and resilient.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are advantageous but not essential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
