About the Role

Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to join our Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Industrial Relations: Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including employers, trade unions, and other industry partners. Provide strategic guidance on industrial relations and collective bargaining arrangements.
  • Pension Industry Expertise: Leverage your experience in the pension industry to provide strategic guidance on scheme governance, investment, and administration. Collaborate with our management team to ensure the effective delivery of our pension scheme.
  • Corporate Governance and Board Management: Provide expert guidance on corporate governance and board management practices. Ensure that our Board operates in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and industrial relations
  • Strong pension industry expertise, including experience as a pension trustee or member of a pension fund management team
  • Excellent corporate governance and board management skills
