Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Project Engineer (m/f/d) specializing in Piping Systems within the Mechanical Engineering division, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our extensive national and international projects. Your focus will be on cutting-edge decarbonization technologies, including green hydrogen electrolysis facilities, carbon capture and storage (CCUS) systems, and H2-capable flexible power generation plants. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating on projects and overseeing the technical elements from initial concept through to completion, with an emphasis on piping systems, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, cooling systems, and auxiliary components (balance of plant).
  • Managing orders and project segments with both external and internal stakeholders for the planning, procurement, and installation of the specified components.
  • Ensuring adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintaining and managing specialist and project-related relationships to guarantee the successful technical execution of the outlined focal points.
  • Providing support during the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Developing, reviewing, and presenting project decisions and outcomes within the Balance of Plant area.
  • Assisting in the formulation of feasibility studies and technical specifications.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Over 7 years of professional experience in Balance of Plant with a proven track record in construction projects within the energy, chemical, oil and gas sectors, or other relevant industries.
  • Comprehensive understanding of PED and DVGW regulations.
  • Expertise in the design and operation of one or more of the aforementioned technical specializations.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, along with negotiation abilities and a results-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Additional language proficiencies.
  • Familiarity with flare design, H2 or gas refueling stations, and H2 or gas storage systems.
  • Knowledge of gas and steam turbines (CCGT), gas purification, or liquefaction processes.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., IPMA, PMI).
