Job Title: Head of Science Department

We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to join our team as Head of Science Department at Windsor Forest Colleges. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our science curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and promoting student achievement and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the science curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards and college policies.
  • Manage and develop the science curriculum team, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Implement the Teaching, Learning & Assessment Framework to improve learner outcomes and promote high expectations for staff and students.
  • Ensure the effective use of individualized learning schemes and resources, identifying and supporting underperforming students.
  • Continuously improve the quality of teaching and assessment, monitoring progress and making data-driven decisions.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification and experience in leading curriculum development and implementation.
  • Proven track record of improving student achievement and retention in a science-related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and external partners.
