Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our CAMHS Inpatient Service team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to children and young people with mental health needs and eating disorders/disordered eating.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nursing Care: Undertake comprehensive, patient-focused, nursing assessments and co-produce care plans in consultation with the service user and their families and carers.
  • Risk Management: Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and formulate risk management plans with Service Users, their families and Carers.
  • Service Development: Assist the Unit Manager in developing a service that will ensure that the needs of patients are met with regard to their age, spiritual, cultural, ethnic and sexual orientation.
  • Unit Management: In the absence of the manager, undertake responsibility for the day-to-day running of the unit.
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide management and clinical supervision to members of staff.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and both statutory and non-statutory organisations involved with client care.
Person Specification
  • Education and Qualifications: Essential qualifications include RMN, NMC Registration, and evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
  • Experience: Essential experience includes evidence of the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, as well as previous nursing experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Relevant degree or working towards, ENB 998 or Mentorship in Practice or relevant teaching certificate, and experience of working with children and young people.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of Current Initiatives: An awareness of current initiatives within CAMHS.
  • Understanding of MHA and Code of Practice: Understanding of changes to MHA and the Code of Practice and their practical application within clinical settings.
  • Personal and Professional Development: Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
Work-Related Circumstances
  • Travel Requirements: Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
