Transport Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team at Fowler Welch, a leading logistics company in the fresh produce sector. As a Transport Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage vehicle utilization and ensure drivers are provided with clear instructions.
- Ensure all service levels are met cost-effectively and within the constraints of drivers' hours and H&S regulations.
- Liaise with the Transport Supervisor to optimize fleet/driver utilization and resolve problems affecting delivery on time.
- Assist in the control of equipment and ensure customer requirements are met and recorded.
- Support drivers with callouts and breakdowns, and ensure customers are informed of late or delayed deliveries.
- Build and match ASNS to loads, ensuring compliance.
- Complete accident, incident, and near-miss paperwork, and track drivers using ISOTRAK/Microlise systems.
- Experience of working within a distribution/transport environment.
- Ability to manage own workload within a pressurized environment.
- Sound geographical knowledge.
- Basic understanding of drivers' hours regulations/Tachograph law.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Competitive salary: £34,000-£38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 4 on 4 off, 8am-8pm working hours.
