Job Summary:

We are partnering with a reputable Housing Association to recruit a Safeguarding Officer for a temporary 3-month contract. The role involves working in a dynamic team to provide safeguarding services to vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess incoming referrals and direct clients to additional services
  • Understand the legal framework concerning the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
  • Provide direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people
  • Safeguard cases by referring to Social Care and MARAC where appropriate
  • Collaborate with the team to conduct thorough assessments of needs and risks for women experiencing domestic abuse
  • Provide short-term risk management, safety planning, and support
  • Ensure that agreed case recording, monitoring systems are kept up to date and secure
  • Participate in multi-agency working and focus groups as requested

Requirements:

  • Experience managing safeguarding cases in a housing or local authority environment
  • Experience of supporting and advocating on behalf of Domestic Abuse Survivors

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices, procedures, and legislation
  • Able to complete risk and needs assessments, safety, and support plans for complex need clients
  • Customer-focused approach and able to build strong trust-based relationships

Working Arrangements:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
