Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a strong team of workshop technicians to ensure optimum productivity and performance.
  • Plan and control workshop operations to meet customer satisfaction and business success goals.
  • Monitor and review vehicle off-road cases to minimize downtime and ensure efficient repair processes.
  • Collaborate with service advisors to ensure accurate repair orders and customer communication.
  • Ensure adherence to pre-authorized prices and agreed-upon workshop services.
  • Manage and update the WIP system to ensure timely completion of repairs and compliance with regulations.
  • Liaise with the parts department to ensure accurate ordering and availability of parts.
  • Plan and manage staff holidays and absence to minimize disruption to the business.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company HR policies and conduct performance issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Responsible for all aspects of health and safety on site, ensuring the use of PPE and maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in workshop controlling, supervising, or managing in a commercial vehicle workshop, fleet workshop, or vehicle maintenance unit.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and organize a team.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to identify and implement actions to complete tasks and meet customer needs.
  • Problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles and deliver solutions that benefit the customer and the business.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers in a fair, positive, and professional manner.
  • Quality-focused with the ability to ensure a high-quality service at all times and embed a right-first-time culture.
