About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Business Rates Officer to join our team at Bath & North East Somerset Council. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date Business Rates and BID Levy records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Business Rates and BID Levy records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Handle enquiries from the public, colleagues, and external organisations promptly and professionally, providing accurate advice and guidance.
- Investigate and resolve queries related to Business Rates and BID Levy
- Liaise with external and internal partners and agencies to ensure accurate billing and collection of Business Rates and BID Levy
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors in Business Rates and BID Levy records.
- Stay updated with changes in legislation and regulations pertaining to Business Rates, ensuring accurate advice and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders through various channels.
- Maintain and balance the Valuation Office Agency schedules.
