Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Kent

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a large, well-resourced special educational needs school in Kent. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEND, providing 1:1 support and assisting with the development and learning of students within the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work 1:1 with a teenage boy to provide academic and pastoral support, including personal care as required.
  • Assist and support with the development and learning of students within the school, including those with PMLD.
  • Provide 1:1 and general support to students according to requirements for the day.
  • Work alongside other teaching and support staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment is maintained.
Requirements:
  • A patient and calm approach, with the ability to work with students who may have challenging behaviors.
  • An interest in working with students with SEND, particularly those with PMLD.
  • Flexibility in your approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Existing DBS check on the update service.
  • Existing experience working with children or adults with SEND is advantageous, but not required.
