About The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Next Gate Tech. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering scalable software solutions that meet the needs of our business.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll lead the development of major product features, taking ownership of the entire development cycle from ideation to successful release. You'll work closely with our product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing scalable software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Leading the development of major product features, including ideation, development, and release.
  • Collaborating with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Writing high-quality, reusable code and conducting detailed code reviews.
  • Managing technical debt for owned systems and balancing with strategic project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficient in backend technologies including Python, with a deep understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) is a must.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, with a focus on best practices in data modeling and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with building and scaling microservices, RESTful APIs, and understanding of distributed systems.
  • Experience in leading feature development, mentoring junior engineers, and influencing engineering practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
