The Edge Computing SCADA Engineer Role

At RES, we're pushing the boundaries of renewable energy solutions by harnessing the power of data and analytics. Our clients rely on us to optimize their assets, drive efficiency, and make informed decisions. As an Edge Computing SCADA Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in configuring and deploying our Edge Controller software to enhance the output of wind and solar farms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure projects and users on the product using our cloud-based HMI software.
  • Create and execute comprehensive Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) to verify system functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and on-site integration.
  • Participate in technical discussions to help develop tools and processes for efficient product deployment.
  • Document technical processes and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain best practices.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with industrial automation principles, communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.), and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of how wind and solar farms operate (desirable).
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in configuring, deploying edge boxes for industrial applications.
  • Proven track record in deploying and troubleshooting controls software in operational environments.
  • Experience of working remotely without close supervision.
  • Experience with SCADA systems deployment, HMI development tools, and edge computing technologies (advantageous).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
