Overview of the Senior Employment Lawyer Position:

Sellick Partnership Limited is collaborating with a distinguished legal services team in Bedfordshire. We are seeking a Senior Employment Lawyer to become part of the Litigation legal team, tasked with providing expert legal counsel and representation to the Council across various employment law matters.

The Council boasts extensive experience from years of advising clients in local government, public sector, charities, and educational institutions. The team offers a broad spectrum of legal services, delivered by specialized lawyers who are well-versed in the nuances of local government priorities. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Employment Lawyer:

The role entails delivering thorough professional legal guidance to the Borough Council and its client departments. You will oversee a portfolio of cases, which will include, but not be limited to:

  • Acting as a legal advisor to client organizations
  • Providing support and guidance to the HR Department on employment-related issues such as TUPE, redundancy, unfair dismissal, discrimination, and maternity rights
  • Preparing cases for Employment Tribunals and acting as an advocate when necessary
  • Representing clients in courts and tribunals and engaging in negotiations with third parties regarding relevant legal matters

Ideal Qualifications for the Senior Employment Lawyer:

We are looking for candidates with prior advocacy experience and outstanding skills in relationship building, networking, and influence.

Applicants should be qualified solicitors, barristers, or FCILEx with over 6 years of post-qualification experience, although we are open to discussing candidates from diverse employment law backgrounds.
