Debt Advisory Role at Caravel

The role sits within the debt advisory team, working closely with clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.

We are looking for someone with 2-4 years of transactional experience in the UK real estate market, gained at an advisor, lender, or investor.

Key Responsibilities:Origination:
  • Build new client relationships, focusing on the mid-market.
  • Work towards autonomously originating new debt and equity advisory mandates.
Evaluation of Deals:
  • Conduct due diligence on potential clients, alongside junior and senior team members.
  • Analyse transactions from a qualitative and quantitative perspective, delivering a true value-add offering to clients.
  • Undertake economic and market research to validate assumptions within proposals, focusing on validating client assumptions on valuations to mitigate significant transaction risks.
  • Produce various cashflow models to analyse debt requirement and serviceability, considering appropriate capital structures, including senior debt, mezzanine, and equity.
Deal Execution:
  • Present the investment opportunity to appropriate lenders on behalf of clients, with detailed analysis of investment rationale, valuation, and capital structure considerations, as well as potential exit strategies.
  • Negotiate terms offered by lenders and report back to clients.
  • Assist lenders in obtaining viable credit approval.
  • Review legal documents and assist borrowers' lawyers in negotiating facility documents as appropriate.

Salary is up to £60,000 p.a. + bonus.
