As an Automation Support Engineer, you will be required to possess strong mechanical and electrical skills, alongside a comprehensive understanding of Beckhoff PLC systems. Your expertise in high-level fault diagnosis and the ability to implement system upgrades and modifications will be crucial.

In collaboration with a dynamic and well-established team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of automated material handling systems, including Dematic Shuttles, Autostores, Robotics, and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Address automation faults and breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and implement modifications to control systems.
  • Prioritize issues and breakdowns using a structured problem-solving methodology.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to tackle complex challenges.
  • Provide technical assistance for modifications, maintenance, and upgrades of existing safety and PLC Control Systems.
  • Perform system checks on PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/ONC.
  • Proven experience in fault diagnosis and modifications to Siemens PLC systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Variable Speed Drives, Motors, and Safety Circuits.
  • Familiarity with fault-finding on industrial networks, including Asi and Profibus.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary up to £52,000 depending on experience.
