Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Trainee Solicitor to join our team at North Lanarkshire Council. As a Trainee Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, working on a wide range of legal cases and developing your skills in legal advice, assistance, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and assistance to clients, including Councillors and other Council services.
  • Work across various legal areas, including contract law, employment law, and property law.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of legal policies and procedures.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Scots Law and a valid Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (PEAT 1).
  • Good general legal knowledge and the ability to address and resolve complex legal problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to produce well-structured written documentation.
