Job Title: SEMH Teaching AssistantWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist SEMH school in Wakefield. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with children and young people who have complex additional needs within a specialist setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students with complex and challenging behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students to help them overcome barriers to learning
- Assist with lesson planning and delivery, including adapting materials to meet the needs of students with complex needs
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with children and young people with complex additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
- Compassionate and caring approach to supporting students
