Working Hours and Compensation:

Monday to Friday

37.5 hours per week

Flexible start times available

Salary range: £35,000 - £42,000 based on experience


Key Responsibilities of the HR Consultant Role:

  • Oversee the management of essential employee relations cases, including sickness management, flexible working requests, performance improvement plans, and grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Conduct welfare assessments, occupational health referrals, risk assessments, and capability processes.
  • Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and management as needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner to address complex employee relations issues effectively.
  • Promote the development of people management capabilities across the organization.
  • Manage parental leave processes across various departments.
  • Coach and guide managers to enhance their leadership and people management skills, while constructively addressing any inappropriate behaviors.
  • Ensure all formal performance management cases are documented in compliance with internal audit standards.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development of coaching skills among managers and staff regarding our people processes.
  • Support local induction processes as required.
  • Deliver HR training modules to the internal management team.
  • Foster a positive diversity and inclusion culture within the team.

Qualifications and Experience Required for the HR Consultant Role:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in HR.
  • Possession of a clean UK driving license.
  • Proven experience in advising managers and stakeholders on HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience in managing HR cases within a warehousing or manufacturing context is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and a comprehensive understanding of current employment legislation.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and summarize key insights.
  • Effective communication and data presentation skills.
  • Capable of working independently and using initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Level 5 CIPD qualification is desirable, or Level 3 CIPD qualification with progression towards Level 5.
