We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Horizon Teachers. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, and Speech and Language difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work 1:1 with children who have complex needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, creating a nurturing environment that fosters engagement and learning.
  • Provide support for children with sensory processing issues, physical disabilities, and complex medical conditions.
  • Foster engagement in learning through creative play, sensory activities, and hands-on educational tasks that inspire curiosity and build essential life skills.
About You

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who is committed to making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. You will have experience working with children or adults who have conditions such as Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or Sensory Impairments.

You will be confident, patient, and able to adapt to different learning styles, providing support to students with complex needs such as Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and Specific Learning Difficulties like Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
