About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our corporate services function, encompassing Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Intelligence, Admissions, Exams, and Computer Services teams.

As the Head of MIS and Data Systems, you will be responsible for maintaining the student record database, providing reporting suites, and overseeing the Individual Learner Record (ILR), Admissions, Exams, Reception, and administration.

You will also have overall responsibility for the provision and development of all aspects of Information Technology (IT) across the college, including hardware, software, networks, and related systems. This will involve ensuring the effective use of IT for teaching, learning, and assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the MIS and Data Systems team, providing strategic direction and guidance
  • Develop and implement effective management information systems, including the student record database and reporting suites
  • Oversee the Individual Learner Record (ILR) and ensure compliance with Further Education funding and rules
  • Manage the provision and development of IT across the college, including hardware, software, networks, and related systems
  • Ensure the effective use of IT for teaching, learning, and assessment
Requirements
  • Education to degree level or relevant industry experience
  • Significant experience of Further Education funding and rules, and Individual Learner Record (ILR)
  • Experience of complex management information systems and corporate reporting
  • Effective communication, supervisory, and interpersonal skills to lead and work as part of a team
