Special Constable Opportunity

Hampshire Constabulary is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of Special Constables. As a Special Constable, you will play a vital role in supporting our regular police officers in maintaining law and order in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support regular police officers in responding to emergency calls and carrying out patrols
  • Assist with investigations and gather evidence
  • Engage with the local community and build relationships
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Have a good understanding of the English language
  • Be willing to undergo a selection process, including a competency-based interview and vetting clearance
Selection Process

The selection process for this role consists of the following steps:

  1. Application and shortlisting
  2. Competency-based interview
  3. Vetting clearance and medical clearance
  4. Training and attestation
What to Expect

As a Special Constable, you can expect to:

  • Work a minimum of 16 hours per month
  • Be part of a supportive and dynamic team
  • Develop new skills and gain valuable experience
