Procurement Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Administrator to join our team at BTC Electronic Components. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in supporting the procurement process and ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the procurement process by working closely with our procurement team to identify and source high-quality materials and components.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders, as well as manage and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
- Purchase goods, materials, and components in line with customer demand, ensuring timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring excellent communication and service.
- Work closely with our sales team to provide updates and changes to open purchase orders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our procurement processes and supply chain operations, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification, or studying towards CIPS certification.
- Excellent knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding, and cost breakdown.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and achieve set targets.
- Commercial and financial awareness, with a full understanding of how failure impacts the business and customer order fulfillment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
