As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing assessment and consultation services to schools, early years settings, families, and young people to facilitate positive outcomes for vulnerable children and those with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Consultation: Provide comprehensive assessment and consultation services to schools, early years settings, families, and young people to identify and address the needs of vulnerable children and those with special educational needs.
- Collaboration with Support Services: Work in partnership with other support services to deliver integrated and coordinated support tailored to the needs of children and young people.
- Professional Development: Attend and actively participate in whole-service and team meetings, peer supervision sessions, and professional training events as directed by the line manager.
- Training and Interventions: Contribute to the development and delivery of effective training and interventions for professionals and others across various settings.
- Psychological Advice: Offer psychological advice in accordance with the 1996 Education Act and contribute to the Annual Reviews of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Professional Standards: Work in compliance with the codes of conduct and ethics established by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Division of Educational and Child Psychology of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Qualifications and Registration: Holds or is expected to complete by the end of the year a doctoral or master's level qualification in Educational Psychology, as accredited by the relevant university, and is eligible for or will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) upon completion of the professional qualification.
- IT Skills: Possesses basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing, and data entry in spreadsheets, with a willingness to learn additional IT skills as necessary.
- Engagement and Relationship Building: Committed to promoting equal opportunities and ensuring the voices of children and parents are clearly heard and considered.
- Training Delivery: Ability to deliver training programmes to a variety of audiences, including professionals, parents, and carers.
