We are seeking an experienced Procurement Sustainability Manager to lead our strategy for waste and recycling across all of Morrisons. As a key member of our Procurement team, you will be responsible for managing costs and income across all waste categories, driving waste mitigation and/or recycling solutions to support the business meet our Zero General Waste Target.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive waste and recycling strategy to minimize waste and maximize recycling
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with sustainability goals and objectives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the needs of the business are met
- Deliver on our plan to reduce General Waste Volumes through innovative solutions and processes
- Get the most value possible from all waste streams and turn net spend into income, while minimizing costs
- Category management and strategic sourcing
- Contracting and contract management
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with strong knowledge of the industry and supplier base. You will need to have experience and ability in the following areas:
- Ability to define a clear strategy and execute it with the support of the team
- Ability to evaluate, review and challenge business cases and complex commercial proposals
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Track record of procurement within a large complex organisation
- Developing and implementing category management practices and strategies
- Supplier relationship management
- Commercial and contract drafting and negotiation
- Procurement project management
Our Procurement Department is a fast-paced and dynamic team that makes sure we have what we need when we need it. We build strong relationships with suppliers to source everything we need to keep our stores, depots and manufacturing sites running. This includes IT and tech equipment, energy, waste and recycling services, PPE and hand sanitizer, and extra delivery vans to serve more customers than ever.
