Job Title: Ocean Import Operator


Job Summary:

As an Ocean Import Operator, you will be responsible for the completion of ocean import operations from start to finish. This will involve quoting and pricing, liaising with shippers, hauliers, and carriers, as well as managing key accounts and arranging for the timely and accurate documentation of shipments.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the completion of ocean import operations from start to finish
  • Quoting and pricing, ensuring best rates are secured
  • Liaising with shippers, hauliers, and carriers
  • Key account management - responsible for managing accounts from booking to deliveries
  • Arranging for the timely and accurate documentation of shipments
  • Completing customs documentation
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring all inquiries are dealt with


Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience working with a leading freight forwarder
  • Awareness of all aspects of the shipment process from start to finish
  • Ability to collaborate with the customer to provide the best service available
  • Ability to meet all deadlines within the time constraints provided
  • Confident and effective communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to build relationships with customers
