Position Overview

Café Service Associates operate in one of our nine bustling cafés located throughout the Durham University Campus.


In this role, you will collaborate with a team to deliver a courteous, professional, friendly, and efficient catering experience to students, staff, and visitors.

As part of the catering team, you will ensure that retail outlets are prepared to an exceptional standard and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.

Dishwashing is a component of this role, which involves using an automatic dishwasher, and post-service, all food areas must be cleared and sanitized.

Working in a catering setting requires physical manual handling, which may include lifting and transporting food and catering equipment, such as heavy plates and cutlery.

Key Responsibilities

We expect you to be punctual, adaptable, and willing to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
